Virgin River Season 5 is scheduled to be released this year in 2023. And there is good news for the fans of Virgin River novels, as its Netflix adaptation season 5 has few new faces. Although its filming was wrapped on November 21st, 2022 as confirmed by What’s on Netflix, it has been approved by the makers that we will get the fifth installment in the series by the end of this year.
Jack and Mel’s relationship became a little weird after Mel confirmed that her baby was Jack’s. And Season 4 ended with a cliffhanger about Doc’s grandson, Denny’s Huntington’s disease. We also saw Brie confront her abusive ex, Don.
What may happen in Virgin River Season 5?
As of now from the interviews of various cast members, we came to know that the plot of Virgin River Season 5 is going to be very interesting. In an interview with Glamour Martin Henderson (Jack) told that:
“The baby stuff gets really interesting…A lot of stuff gets wrapped up and then there’s a whole bunch of new beginnings and new storylines, I can’t give too much away. I know someone might move away. Someone might leave.”
Annette O’Toole aka Hope confirmed in an interview that the middle of the season is going to be very heavy and there are so many things going to happen in episodes 5 and 6.
As we came to know that Jack’s twins are not his and Mel revealed to Jack that her baby is his. So there is so much fans can expect from Virgin River Season 5. Fans are expecting so much from the upcoming season as they want to know whether Jack has any biological child or not.
As per The Viewer’s Perspective, there will not be any time jump in Season 5, it will pick up immediately after the events of Season 4. It may bring more LGBTQ+ stories into the show in the upcoming season.
But the most important question is will Jack and Mel finally get married in virgin river season 5 or not? In answer to that Smith had told to TVLine:
“Mel and Jack are such an epic couple that you really want to savor things as much as you can…So we’re moving at that pace with all of the things they have ahead of them, anticipating [a wedding] down the road.”

So I think in the last season of the show we can see their wedding or maybe in Virgin River Season 6. As there are so many new characters that are coming in season 5, it may change so many things in the upcoming seasons.

As of now, Kandyse McClure was the first cast who joined the team in October 2022. The Canadian Actress Kandyse started her career with Romeo Must Die after that she appeared in the films like Seventh Son, Careful What You Wish For, and Love, Guaranteed.

Filming Status of Season 5
Almost all the filming schedules of Virgin River Season 5 were completed last year only the last schedule is to be shot in July 2023. The major part of the show was shot between July 18th, 2022, and November 17th, 2022, which has been confirmed by Virgin River’s Instagram Page on July 19, 2022.
After that, the second schedule ended on 21st November 2022 as confirmed by the same Instagram account. In the post, we can see various BTS photos and videos from the set.
Virgin River Season 6 has already been green-lit by Netflix as per Deadline. And I think we may get another season in 2024, after Virgin River Season 5 which is coming at this year’s end.
