When Is South Korean Film Kill Boksoon Releasing on Netflix?

The upcoming South Korean movie ‘Kill Boksoon’ is just around the corner. The plot revolves around a renowned assassin named Gil Bok-soon who is a single mother at home.

Before renewing her contract with her employer company, she finds herself facing unavoidable confrontation. On the other hand, the legendary killer finds the contract killing industry less disturbing than parenting.

When Is Kill Boksoon Releasing on Netflix?

The film was first confirmed on 4th January 2022 with an ensemble cast in the lead roles. Netflix released the official trailer for the series on YouTube on 16th March this year.

‘Kill Boksoon’ was released at the Berlin International Film Festival on 18th February of 2023. It will be available on Netflix on 31st March.

Cast Members of the Upcoming Movie ‘Kill Boksoon’:

Jeon Do-yeon-

South Korean actress Jeon Do-yeon portrayed the lead character- a single mother and successful killer Gil Bok-soon. It was reported on April 7, 2022, that she stopped filming for the movie due to an injury, though afterward she resumed filming following her treatment at the hospital.

Do-Yeon became the first Korean actress to win an acting award at Cannes Film Festival when she won Best Actress at the 60th Cannes for her role as Lee Shin-ae in Lee Chang-dong’s drama film ‘Secret Sunshine’. She also won the 1st Asia Pacific Screen Awards for Best Performance by an Actress for this role.

Sol Kyung-gu-

South Korean actor Sol Kyung-gu is cast as a character named Cha Min-kyu who is the CEO of the company in which Bok-soon is an employee- MK. ENT.

Esom-

Playing Cha Min-hee, South Korean actress and model Lee So-young, known as Esom, has been cast in the movie as Cha Min-hee, director of the company.

She has previously starred in the films ‘Hindsight’, ‘Man on High Heels’, ‘Santa Barbara’, ‘Scarlet Innocence’, ‘Like for Likes’, ‘Warriors of the Dawn’, ‘My Little Brother’, ‘Microhabitat’, ‘Inseparable Bros’, ‘Samjin Company English Class’, and ‘Phantom’. Like Kyung-gu, Esom is also set to star in other upcoming films that are ‘Single in Seoul’, ‘Starlight Falls, and ‘Possession’.

Koo Kyo-hwan-

As Han Hee-Seong, an affiliated killer of the company, we will find South Korean actor Koo Kyo-hwan in the movie. In the 2017 drama film ‘Jane’, Kyo-hwan portrayed the titular Jane.

Then in 2020, he played Captain Seo in the action horror heist movie ‘Peninsula’. The next year he was cast in the action drama movie ‘Escape from Mogadishu’ to play the role of Tae Joon-gi.

She has been cast in three more upcoming films besides ‘Kill Boksoon’ which are ‘Escape’, ‘New Humanity War: Resurrection Man’, and ‘Finding the King’.

Kim Si-a-

Kim Si-a plays the role of Bok-soon’s daughter Gil Jae-yeong who is unaware of her mother’s profession. At a very early age, Si-a has already starred in a number of notable films. In 2018 she played the main role of Kim Ji-eun in the South Korean drama film ‘Miss Baek’.

The next year she was cast as the supporting character Soon-ok in the disaster film ‘Ashfall’. In 2020 she portrayed another main character Myung Jin in the South Korean horror movie ‘The Closet’.

She is also set to star in the upcoming South Korean film ‘Bigwang’ in the role of Dong-Joo.

Supporting cast members of the upcoming movie ‘Kill Boksoon’ include Lee Yeon, Park Kwang-Jae, Jang In-sub, Choi Byung-mo, Kim Sung-oh, Kim Ki-cheon, Gi Ju-bong, Kim Jun-bae, Jang Hyun-sung.

One of the highest-grossing South Korean actors Hwang Jung-min will also be seen in a special appearance in the upcoming movie.
