Is The Afterparty Season 2 Coming in April 2023?

Season 2 of the American murder mystery comedy series ‘The Afterparty is just around the corner. Christopher Miller created this series the first season of which revolves around a death that happened at a high school reunion after-party.

As everyone turns suspect, all the guests are faced with questions and investigation as they uncover their own versions of what happened that night presented in every episode. Through this investigation, the characters navigate personal fulfillment, second chances, and also a new genre of life.

Critic Olivia Rutigliano categorized the series as an example of “the millennial whodunnit”. In the upcoming Season 2 we will get to be involved with a murder mystery but this time at a wedding.

When Is The Afterparty Season 2 Releasing?

The idea of such a series was conceived by Miller in the early 2010s as he wanted to present different perspectives of witnesses about a murder in a story.

He thought of the setting of a high school reunion after attending one himself. The series got an eight-episode production order on June 24, 2020, by Apple TV+.

The first season premiered on January 28, 2022. The Afterparty Season 2 consisting of ten episodes was renewed on March 2, 2022. Season 2 will be released on April 28, 2023.

Tiffany Haddish-

Detective Danner is returning to help Aniq and Zoë from the first season to solve the new whodunnit. American stand-up comedian and actress Tiffany Haddish have reprised her role of Detective Danner in the upcoming season.

Her other television credits include ‘If Loving You Is Wrong, ‘The Carmichael Show, ‘Legends of Chamberlain Heights, ‘The Last O.G.’, ‘Self Made’ etc.

She also starred in the films ‘Girls Trip’, ‘The Oath’, ‘Night School’, ‘Nobody’s Fool’, ‘The Kitchen’, ‘Like a Boss’, ‘On the Count of Three’, ‘Bad Trip’, ‘Here Today’, ‘The Card Counter’, etc.

Haddish will also star in the upcoming films ‘Haunted Mansion’ and ‘Back on the Strip’. Haddish was named one of the 100 most influential people in the world by Time magazine in 2018.

Sam Richardson-

The character of escape room designer Aniq will be reprised by Sam Richardson in the upcoming season. His other television credits include ‘The Office’, ‘Veep’, ‘Detroiters’, ‘Champaign ILL’, ‘The Fungies!’, ‘M.O.D.O.K.’ etc.

Richardson starred in the films Hooking Up’, ‘Werewolves Within’, ‘The Tomorrow War’, ‘Senior Year’ etc.

Zoë Chao-

The character of Aniq’s high school crush Zoë who is also investigating the case is going to be reprised by American television and stage actress Zoë Chao in the upcoming season.

Her television credits include ‘Strangers’, ‘Living with Yourself’, ‘Love Life’, etc.

Elizabeth Perkins-

American actress Elizabeth Perkins has joined the cast of ‘The Aftermath’ in the upcoming season. Her television credits include ‘Battery Park’, ‘Weeds’, ‘How to Live with Your Parents(For the Rest of Your Life)’, ‘This Is Us’, ‘The Moodys, ‘Truth Be Told’ etc.

Zach Woods-

American actor Zach Woods will be seen starring as Edgar in Season 2. His previous television credits include ‘The Office, ‘Silicon Valley’, ‘Playing House’, ‘Avenue 5’ etc.

Paul Walter Hauser-
