Tony Basgallop created the upcoming dark comedy workplace thriller tv series ‘The Consultant’ adapted from Bentley Little’s same-named novel. The plot revolves around a man Regus Patoff who gets hired as a consultant by CompWare, an app-based gaming company.
After the bow-tie-wearing Mr. Patoff begins his work apparently through running the company, the employees start to experience new challenges which question everything including the employees’ lives.
Australian German actor and Academy Award winner Christoph Waltz has been cast in the role of the lead character Mr. Patoff in the upcoming series. Other primary cast members include Nat Wolff, Brittany O’Grady, and Aimee Carrero.

The plot surrounds the real-life former biotechnology entrepreneur Elizabeth Holmes who was a convicted fraudster and her rise and fall revolving around her company called Theranos. The show also navigates the experiences since her preteens that could motivate her lies and deceptions in a linear fashion.
‘Mean Girls‘ famed Amanda Seyfried has portrayed Elizabeth Holmes in the series. British-American actor Naveen Andrews starred as Holmes’ then-boyfriend Sunny Balwani who was also convicted fraudster for being the chief operating officer and president of Theranos.
