Youn Yuh Jung Terminates Contract with Hook Entertainment.

Youn Yuh Jung is a South Korean actress who has worked for over five decades in film and television. She has worked in numerous South Korean television series and films.

In addition to being nominated for a Critics’ Choice Movie Award, she has won an Academy Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, a British Academy Film Award, an Independent Spirit Award, and several other honors.

On December 5, Hook Entertainment released a statement related to the expiration of the contract with Hook Entertainment.

The agency Hook Entertainment gave an official statement related to it which is as follows:

“Hello. This is Hook Entertainment.

Hook Entertainment would like to inform you that our contract with actress Youn Yuh Jung, who has been with us since March 2017, has expired.

We will support her so that we can keep running into her through wonderful projects as long as she stays healthy.

Thank you.”

Recently Hook Entertainment has been in the headlines for the legal controversy that has been going on between the actor Lee Seung Gi and Hook Entertainment. Lee Seung Gi demanded for a transparent record of his music after the company was seized and searched by the police.

Hook Entertainment’s CEO Kwon Jin Young has also released an official apology in relation to the legal issues with the actor Lee Seung Gi.

The performance of Youn Yuh Jung in Minari (2020) earned her recognition on a global scale. She became the first Korean actress to receive nominations for and wins in the Best Supporting Actress categories of the Screen Actors Guild Award, Independent Spirit Award, British Academy Film Award, Academy Award, and Critics’ Choice Movie Award thanks to her widely praised portrayal of Soon-ja in the movie.

The actress is known for her works in South Korean films like The Housemaid (2010), The Taste of Money (2012), The Bacchus Lady (2016), and Canola (2016) as well as the family drama series which includes Men of the Bath House (1995), Be Strong Geum Soon (2005), Daughters-in-Law (2007), My Husband Got a Family (2012), and Dear My Friends (2016).
