Chelsea Handler: Revolution Release Date, Cast, Plot, and Everything you need to know

Published by

Chelsea Handler, a stand-up comedian, talk show host, and author, made a comeback to stand-up last autumn with her HBO Max special “Chelsea Handler: Evolution.”

The streamer’s logline for the episode reads, “The celebrated, award-winning talk show host lets loose on her life, including her decision to remain childless and alone (aside from her dogs), dating even during the pandemic while her family wants to invade her home, and her eyesight for an upcoming year under which men don’t wear flip flops.

Executive producing the latest Chelsea Handler: Revolution special, Revolution, are Handler, Michelle Caputo, and Shannon Hartman. On December 27, 2022, a Netflix release is scheduled.

Chelsea Handler, a stand-up comedian, talk show host, and author, made a comeback to stand-up last autumn with her HBO Max special “Chelsea Handler: Evolution.” It’s a fitting title for an artist who is fascinated by how our tales may evolve and develop with us as individuals.

In an interview with Backstage, Handler discussed her career as a writer and artist, what motivated her return to the comedy stage, and why she is no longer content with just cracking jokes. She did so from a mountainside while skiing, of all places.

More About Chelsea Handler: Revolution

The new hour, as its name implies, was taped earlier in the day in front of a socially isolated audience and contains virtually nothing in the nature of celebrity rumors, which Handler famously exploited as the host of Chelsea !’s Lately for ten years.

Instead, Handler borrows a leaf from more sensitive comics like Hannah Gadsby or Neal Brennan, who has basically replaced vodka with some mix of marijuana, meditation, and counseling.

She utilizes her time on stage to reflect on her often traumatic background, particularly how her brother’s untimely death when she was just 9 years old, affected the now single 45-year-old Handler.

Once Handler had departed she created history in 2014 when she inked a contract with Netflix for a number of projects, including the streaming service’s first talk show, “Chelsea,” and two four-part reality-style documentaries called “Chelsea Does,” in which she examined marriage, racism, and drugs.

The live-streamed documentary Hello, Imtiaz was created and featured by CEO in 2019. Chelsea here, it’s me. “Chelsea,” which ran from 2016 to 2017, was terminated after two seasons despite Handler’s popularity.

Netflix, which operates under the gluttony model, has struggled over the years to find success with its topical televised formats.

However, it has emerged as the market leader in stand-up comedy, drawing top talent like Chris Rock, Kevin Hart, Dave Chappelle, Ricky Gervais, Martin Short, Steve Martin, and Pete Davidson. Chris Rock will be the first stand-up comedian to produce a live-action special for Netflix in 2023.
