Le Sserafim Makes An Entry in Billboard 200 for the First Time.

Le Sserafim is a South Korean girl group that consists of five members, Sakura, Kim Chae-won, Huh Yun-jin, Kazuha, and Hong Eun-Chae. The group was formed by Source Music and Hype Corporation. With the release of its first extended play ‘Fearless’, the group Le Sserafim made its debut on May 2, 2022.

This time the group has made its place in the US Billboard main album chart ‘Billboard 200’ taking up rank 14. Billboard released its weekly Billboard 200 album list on October 31 for the upcoming week.

The K-pop girl groups LE SSERAFIM and (G)I-DLE have made their debut appearances on the chart with their most recent mini-album releases. Le Sserafim’s second mini album “ANTIFRAGILE” took 14th place while (G)I-DLE’s 5th mini album “I Love” took 71st place on Billboard 200.

From the day of its debut, in just six months the group Le Sserafim was able to make such an achievement. In addition to this LE SSERAFIM also surpassed their first-week sales record earlier this month after recording 408,833 copies in just one day.

Additionally, this represented the female artists’ fourth-highest first-day sales and fifth-highest first-week sales in Hanteo history.

Along with Le Sserafim, there was another girl group, (G)I-DLE who made its first entry in the weekly Billboard chart Billboard 200. With its 5th mini album “I Love” the group was able to grab the 71st position in the chart.

“I Love” is the fifth extended play which consists of three physical versions: Born, Act, and X-file. Six songs make up the EP, including the lead hit song “Nxde.” The album discusses love, contains numerous types of love, and expresses a wide range of feelings.

With the single “Latata” off their first extended play (EP), ‘I Am,’ (G)I-dle made their debut on May 2, 2018. On July 31, 2019, they made their Japanese debut with Latata as U-Cube.

The group released their third EP, ‘I Trust,’ after signing with Republic Records in the US in 2020, becoming only the fourth girl group to sell 100,000 copies of an album in its first week. The female group’s 2020 single album “Dumdi Dumdi” rose to the position of second-best-selling girl group single album of all time.
