Dust out your Tumblr because The CW’s new spinoff series, The Winchesters Season 2, is bringing the world of Supernatural back to life. Everything revolves around Sam and Dean’s parents and their demon-hunting background. OK, OK, I’m exaggerating a little.
The Supernatural finale was released a little under two years ago. But, still. Now that the narrative of this magical family has returned to the screen, you’re undoubtedly wondering if it’ll endure as long as the original.
Is The Winchesters Season 2 Confirmed?
The CW has neither renewed nor canceled The Winchesters since the season premiere. But here’s the catch… Supernatural was released for a total of 15 seasons. It isn’t easy to picture this not lasting at least two years.
On the other hand, the CW would be incomplete without a few Winchesters. Furthermore, Jensen Ackles’ participation as executive producer & occasional guest star should give The CW confidence in continuing the series. There have been other efforts at Supernatural spin-offs, but none of the brothers were in charge.
Who would appear in Season 2 of The Winchesters?
Not only would Meg Donnelly and Drake Rodger return in their roles as Mary and John Winchester, but additional cast members and characters from the original Supernatural might also join the prequel series.
Smallville and Lucifer star Tom Welling, whose involvement was confirmed at New York Comic Con 2022, is one individual who is expected to return. He will appear as Mary’s father, Samuel Campbell, in the seventh episode of the program. He’s officially a recurrent character. Therefore he’ll be returning.
What would the plot of Season 2 of The Winchesters be?
The show occurs seven years before Dean Winchester’s birth (and 11 years before Sam). They’re not even together at the start of season 1, so there’s plenty of space for stories about their travels and relationship.
Season 1 was still in production when the first few episodes aired on The CW. This is not unusual for network television. Because it isn’t an HBO or Netflix program that can take many calendar years between seasons, they could start production on season 2 and have it done by this time next year.
