Moto G40: Design, Pricing, Specs, and More!

Published by

Here, we’ll look through the Moto G40 Fusion, which has some enticing characteristics, including a Snapdragon 732 processor and a 120Hz refresh rate display for a starting price of only 13,999! Is this a phone you should buy? Our Moto G40 Fusion review will address these and other questions.

In terms of form and construction, the Moto G40 Fusion is nearly identical to the G60. However, it’s a big phone that weighs 225 grams and is difficult to grip and manage.

Despite its 9.8mm thickness, the camera array protrudes. Unfortunately, the included case cover doesn’t help smooth the hump. However, metallic rings line all three rear sensors, which should keep scratches away.

The shiny back and side frames are polycarbonate and lack a quality look and feel. The screen lacks AMOLED contrast and deep blacks, but it is HDR compatible, and YouTube HDR performance is adequate for the price.

There are three color options to pick from: Natural, Boosted, and Saturated, with the Natural option targeting the sRGB color space and being our favorite. The display is somewhat reflective yet bright enough to read in direct sunlight.

Specification of Moto G40

The Moto G40 has a 6.80-inch Max Vision FHD+ display with HDR10. The display also has a fast refresh rate of 120Hz. In addition, the Moto G40 is powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 732G CPU, has 6GB of RAM, and a Storage capacity of 128GB, expandable to 1TB.

The smartphone has a 64-megapixel camera sensor and ultra-wide and macro sensors. In addition, the smartphone is equipped with ThinkShield technology for mobile security and runs on Android 11.

The Moto G40 Fusion does some things right and fails in others. The primary appeals remain its clean and basic OS and sufficient performance hardware.

The camera’s performance is adequate for daylight shooting, and the 120Hz smoothness on a standard IPS LCD is acceptable.

Battery Life of Moto G40

Motorola

The 6000mAh battery provides around 8 hours of screen-on time, which is ample for us to last approximately two days. Unfortunately, Motorola included a 20W charger in the box, which isn’t particularly quick. Charging from 0% to 100% takes about 2.5 hours.

Verdict

If you don’t mind giving up a stereo speaker and a giant camera, I believe upgrading to a G40 Fusion is a better alternative than upgrading to G60. On the other hand, if you desire an AMOLED display, alternative smartphones such as the Xiaomi Redmi Note 10 Pro, Samsung Galaxy F62, and others are better options.
