Ana de Armas Reveals How to Avoid Red Carpet Embarrassment

Ana de Armas appeared on the late show to promote her new movie Blonde. The film, which has been in the works for many years, is one of the most anticipated films of 2022 and is likely to be a contender as the awards season approaches.

Ana, who stunned in a plunging gown at the film’s premiere at the Venice Film Festival, was asked by the show’s host how she copes with the pressure of walking the red carpet. She replied, “I’m just trying not to trip. I’m trying to like it, keep it together.”

Blonde received a 14-minute standing ovation at its Venice Film Festival premiere. Ana said she needed to take a break from clapping when asked what she was doing during that period.

“There’s a time for everything. You have to take breaks from clapping. It was just very emotional,” she said. She also explained the feeling of seeing the audience applaud for so long.

“You’re there with the audience and the best thing that can happen is you get that reaction, you just don’t expect it to be that long. But the audience isn’t lying, it’s just happening for real, it’s what they feel,” she said.

The 34-year-old star also revealed that she started shooting the film in 2019. Unfortunately, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the film had to be postponed several times. “It’s very exciting, it’s very emotional. You get to reunite with the cast. We’ve been waiting three years for this movie to come out.”

In the end, Ana and the crew had to shoot the film in just nine weeks, a remarkably short time considering the amount of material they needed to shoot.

Ana revealed that immediately after filming Blonde, she moved on to No Time To Die, a completely unrelated project. However, she claimed that playing a bubbly character in the project was her unique kind of therapy. “We finished shooting this movie on Friday and on Monday I got on the plane and started shooting James Bond,” she said. 

Ana is not only an amazing actress but also incredibly talented and ambitious. It’s no wonder her over 8 million Instagram followers can’t stop gushing about her.
