Plotline Of The Series Music Playlist

The documentary series The Playlist on Netflix is based on the book Spotify Untold, which was written by Swedish investigative tech journalists Sven Carlsson and Jonas Leijonhufvud about the establishment of Spotify.

The book is also known by the title “The Spotify Play: How CEO and Founder Daniel Ek Beat Apple, Google, and Amazon in the Race for Audio Dominance,” which is another name for the book.

After more than a year of delays, Daniel Ek, the smart kid CEO of Spotify, celebrated the well-earned US debut of his business on a San Francisco summer’s eve in 2011.

The technological conflict between the Apple iPhone and Android had been raging for some time, and Steve Jobs considered the ability to store music that had been downloaded within his program as the most important weapon in his fight against Google. But Spotify has changed the lines of battle.

Ek’s platform, which had humble beginnings as a Swedish start-up, had quickly risen to the top of the music streaming business by enticing the famously rigid music companies to sign deals with him by pressuring them with piracy and illegal downloading.

However, if Ek believed the battle was over that June night, he would quickly discover otherwise. According to the show’s official Netflix page, computer entrepreneur Daniel Ek and his key collaborators “in this dramatized story” change an industry by altering how we all listen to music.
