The “Core” OnePlus experience is delivered at an affordable price through the Nord series. How well-suited is the OnePlus Nord 2T to the OnePlus brand of smartphones? Here is my comprehensive evaluation of the 28,999 rupees OnePlus Nord 2T.
Review of the OnePlus Nord 2T: Design
In my opinion, the Nord 2T’s design is fantastic. A lightweight, portable medium-sized smartphone, the OnePlus Nord 2T can be said to be. Finally, the glass back panel has Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection, the same as the screen. However, the frame is still constructed of plastic, which does detract from the appearance in certain ways.
One feature that we associate with OnePlus smartphones is the alert slider, and the Nord 2T includes one. The alert slider is absent on even more expensive smartphones like the OnePlus 10R, but it is included on the OnePlus Nord 2T, making it a unique product and qualifying as a Nord flagship.
The twin circular camera configuration at the rear with a 50MP primary sensor and OIS, as well as the general fit and finish of the Nord 2T, give the impression that it is a well-designed smartphone. You will adore the OnePlus Nord 2T if you prefer the appearance and feel of the performance.
Display
The 6.43-inch AMOLED screen of the OnePlus Nord 2T has FHD+ resolution and a refresh rate of 90Hz. Even if this isn’t exactly cutting-edge technology, features like the in-display fingerprint sensor give it a premium feel, especially when compared to phones with 120Hz AMOLED screens like the Poco F4 and the iQOO Neo 6.
The punch hole on the left corner of the Nord 2T is my personal preference over a punch hole that is centered. YouTube and Prime Video HDR10+ multimedia streaming are supported by the device. There isn’t any support for Dolby Vision here, in contrast to the Poco F4 (review). Like most mid-range smartphones, the screen of the Nord 2T has a small chin at the bottom.
The OnePlus Nord 2T is a medium-sized smartphone with a 6.43-inch display, but it is lightweight and portable. For a more immersive gaming experience, we advise getting something else with a 6.7-inch screen if you are a gamer who plays for more than 3 hours every day.
Cameras
At the rear of the Nord 2T are three cameras: a 50MP primary wide-angle, an 8MP ultra-wide angle, and a 2MP monochrome lens. The main camera is a Sony IMX766 sensor with OIS and 4K video recording capabilities.
Performance
The new MediaTek Dimensity 1300 SoC is the foundation of the Nord 2T. The newer model’s upgraded AI engine is the only change between the Mediatek Dimensity 1200 and Density 1300; all other technical details are similar.
For typical daily use, the Mediatek Dimensity 1300 is a superb chip. The Density 1300 tackles these chores with ease, whether you’re using social media apps, talking, watching a video, listening to music, or even playing simple games.
Software and Connectivity
The OnePlus Nord 2T’s OxygenOS 12.1 based on Android 12 OS gives a considerably cleaner software experience when compared to devices from Realme, Xiaomi, Poco, and iQOO, which is another compelling reason for us to recommend it over any other smartphone.
OxygenOS 12.1 is still superior to the competitors even though it isn’t as clean as earlier versions. The Nord 2T doesn’t come with any extraneous programs at all, with the exception of Spotify and Netflix (both of which can be deleted).
