Julianne Moore will be seen as the jury at the Venice Film Festival 

Julianne Moore shares the news with the fans. The 79th Venice International Film Festival is hosted by La Biennale di Venezia and directed by Alberto Barbera. It will be held at the Venetian People from August 31 to September 10, 2022. The festival is Officially recognized by FIAPF (International Federation of Film Producers Association).

The aim of the festival is to raise awareness and promote international cinema in all its forms as art, entertainment, and as an industry in a spirit of freedom and dialogue. The festival also organizes retrospectives and tributes to important figures as a contribution to a better understanding of the history of cinema.

Moore is the 9th woman to be president of the International jury in the festival’s 79-year history, and the third in the last six years, following Annette Benning in 2017, Lucrecia Martel in 2019, and Cate Blanchett in 2020.

Moore won the Academy Award for Best Actress in 2015 for Still Alice, having previously been nominated for 2 Academy Awards for Best Actress and 2 for Best Supporting Actress.

In Cannes in 2014, She won the best actress award for Maps to the Stars, and in Berlin in 2003, She shared the award with Meryl Streep and Nicole Kidman for The Hours.

Julianne Moore will have Audrey Diwan( French director), Leonardo Di Costanza ( Italian filmmaker) and Argentine Mariano Cohn, and six men and women on her Panel. At this event, they will also have actress Leila Hatami and Japanese author Kazuo Ishiguro and Rodrigo Sorogoyen from Spain. Besides this, the Golden Lion for the best film and the Silver Lions for the best actor and best actress will be awarded by Jury.

The festival is the oldest in the world even before Cannes took place on the picturesque island of Venice. Venice once considered a powerful platform for fascist cinema, has in recent years, under the direction of Marc Mueller and Albert Barbera, become a showcase for the most amazing films. Many of them competed for Oscars and even won them.
