The Sandman Release Date, Cast, Plotline, & More!!

The Sandman is a television series based on Neil Gaiman’s well-regarded comic book of the same name. The premise of the comic book series was highly intriguing, and it garnered accolades from a lot of fans and critics alike for a variety of different reasons.

Additionally, it was honored with a great number of accolades, including the Hugo Award for the Best Related Book, as well as many others. When a comic book reaches that level of success, there is always the possibility that it may be adapted into a movie or a television show; this was the case with The Sandman.

Warner Bros. gave the film project the go-ahead after hearing Goyer’s pitch for it, and the series’ executive producers are Neil Gaiman, David S. Goyer, and Allan Heinberg. Goyer was the one who came up with the idea for the film.

However, because the production process of the series was taking too much time, Warner Bros. made the decision that The Sandman would now be a television series rather than a movie. After a period of time, Netflix came into the picture and signed a contract stating that they would be the ones to produce the series.

Filming for the series began in October 2020; however, because of Covid-19, it took a little bit of time. It was later confirmed that filming for the series was completed in August of 2021. Now that the highly anticipated first season of the television series The Sandman is almost ready to be released, here is everything you need to know about the series.
