13 The Musical Update: Tamra Davis has directed the upcoming new Netflix film ’13: The Musical’ which is set to release on August 12, 2022, in the United States. The plot of the film revolves around a young boy named Evan Goldman who is twelve years old and whose parents are recently divorced.

With his mother Jessica he leaves New York City as his Bar Mitzvah is on the way. Though Evan is sad about leaving his friends, he wants to turn his Bar Mitzvah into a cool party in order to make new friends and blend in.

In the role of Evan Goldman, we will see Eli Golden in the film. Other cast members of the movie include Peter Hermann, Josh Peck, Jessica Goldman, Rhea Perlman, Gabriella Uhl, Frankie McNellis, Lindsey Blackwell, JD McCrary, etc. Now some of the cast members of the film may seem familiar if we dig into their previous works as actors and actresses.

13 The Musical- Peter Hermann as Joel Goldmann:
Joel Goldman is the father of Evan Goldman in the movie whom Evan has to leave behind in New York after the divorce. In the role of Joel Goldman, we will be seeing American actor and producer Peter Hermann. Hermann began his acting career with the role of Dr. Michael Burke in the American popular tv soap opera ‘Guiding Light’.

Hermann portrayed the character in 42 episodes from 1997 to 1998. Then he appeared in three episodes of American comedy-drama ‘Get Real’ and one episode of ‘Law & Order’, ‘Spin City’ and ‘Hack’.

Then from 2002 to 2019 and from 2021 to 2022, he portrayed the role for which he is mostly known. In NBC’s ‘Law & Order: Special Victims Unit’ he played the role of the recurring character Trevor Logan. He also appeared in the series Sex and the City, ‘All My Children’, ‘Hope & Faith’, ‘Beautiful People’, ‘Standoff’,

Jessica is the divorced mother of the young Ethan who is portrayed by American actress Debra Lynn Messing. Messing graduated from Tisch School of the Arts of New York and has owned a number of accolades including Golden Globe and Primetime Emmy Award nominations during her acting career since now.

She began her on-screen career by appearing in the police procedural drama ‘NYPD Blue’ from 1994 to 1995. In 1995 she appeared in one episode of ‘Partners’ before getting vast for the role of the titular Stacey Colbert in the American sitcom ‘Ned & Stacey’ where she co-starred with Thomas Haden Church from 1995 to 1997.

From 1998 to 2006 and from 2017 to 2020 she played the role of the titular Grace Adler in another sitcom named ‘Will & Grace’. In the musical drama ‘Smash’, she starred in 32 episodes in the role of Julia Houston from 2012 to 2013, and from 2014 to 2016 she starred as Detective Laura Diamond in the police procedural comedy series ‘The Mysteries of Laura’.

After getting divorced and living in New York, Evan’s mother moves in with her along with Evan. Besides ‘Cheers’ where she starred from 1982 to 1993, other tv series in which Perlman has been seen appearing in ‘Taxi’, ‘Pearl’, ‘Kate Brasher’, ‘Hung’, ‘Kristie’, ‘The Mindy Project’, ‘Me and My Grandma’ etc.
