The Umbrella Academy Season 3 Updates: The American superhero time travel series ‘The Umbrella Academy’ is based on the same-named comic book by Gerard Way and Gabriel Bá. The plot of the series begins with a weird incident of forty-three women giving birth in the same year at the same time without demonstrating any prior sign of pregnancy.

Billionaire Sir Reginald Hargreeves who is an eccentric person adopts seven of those children. He raises them to grow up into superhumans. Now after their father’s death, they reunite.

The series scored 76% and 91% in both the seasons respectively in Rotten Tomatoes and in Metacritic at 61% and 62% respectively.

It received a number of nominations including Teen Choice Awards, Saturn Awards, People’s Choice Awards, and Primetime Emmy Awards alongside winning an Arts Directors Guild Awards. The series was first released on Netflix on February 15, 2019.  The Umbrella Academy Season 3 is all set to be released on 22nd June 2022.

This American superhero series is adapted from the same-named comic book series by Mark Millar and Frank Quitely. The plot of the series revolves around a number of young people whose parents are superheroes.

Hence, their children have also gained superhuman power. But the show features how it is not easy to live the life of the child of a powerful superhuman.

There is always the pressure of keeping up with the expectation that the parents had established and the fear of being overshadowed. Will they be able to walk in those legendary footsteps set by their parents?

There are some spin-off series of ‘Jupiter’s Legacy’ which are the Supercrooks anime under the production of Studio Bones and a live-action adaptation of that anime. Both the spin-offs are set in the same universe of ‘Jupiter’s Legacy. The series premiered on May 7, 2021, on Netflix.

Jessica Jones –

This American series is based on the MCU character of Brian Michael Bendis and Michael Gaydos. The plot of the series revolves around a woman with a superpower whose name is Jessica Jones (Krysten Ritter).

Her superhero career was cut short when a supervillain named Kilgrave forced her to murder someone. Since then she has become a private investigator for which she sometimes uses her superpower. But when the villain Kilgrave again surfaces, Jessica has to take up the role of superhuman and gives her all to resist him. But her personal trauma from the past incident continues to haunt him.

The series made a 94% rating on Rotten Tomatoes during its first season. The rating gradually decreased making it 82% and 73% in the later series. With Peabody and Hugo Awards, the series also won a Primetime Emmy Award.

From most of the other superhero series, the plot of this series is different in showing the weakness and plights of the superhuman featured here. The series aired on Netflix from 2015 to 2019.

Simon Barry created this American fantasy series that is based on the comic book character Warrior Nun Areala created by Ben Dunn. The plot of the series revolves around a nineteen years old woman finding a divine artifact on her back. She also discovers that from now on she is a member of the Cruciform Sword order which is an ancient society to combat demons.

The series made a slightly higher than average rating on Rotten Tomatoes with a score of 68%. One of the criticisms made about the series is that its dependency on mythological stories sometimes may appear as tedious. It was released on Netflix on July 2, 2020.

Douglas Petrie and Marco Ramirez created this American miniseries based on a number of comic book characters. The plot of the series is set in the Marvel Cinematic Universe and set after Season two of the series ‘Daredevil’ and Season one of ‘Iron Fist’.

The characters that the series center around are Jessica Jones, Daredevil, Iron Fist, and Luke Cage who get together in New York City to resist ‘The Hand’ who is their common enemy.

The series received nominations for Saturn Awards, Black Reel Awards, and NAACP Awards. The series was released on Netflix on August 18, 2017.

Akiva Goldsman, Geoff Johns, and Greg Berlanti developed this American superhero series that is adapted from the Teen Titans team of DC Comics. The team includes Nightwing, Starfire, Raven, Beast Boy, Red Hood, Wonder Girl, Dove, Hawk, and Deathstroke who fight against the evil power.

The series managed a 78%, and 81%, and an outstanding 100% rating on Rotten Tomatoes during its three seasons respectively. The series premiered on October 12, 2018. It ran on DC Universe till Season 2 and on HBO Max for Season 3.
