The trailer shows how the announcement does not end the life of Magic Johnson or his career as he continues to play for the Dream Team, open many of his businesses, and inspire millions. Johnson even said, “if you don’t make a difference in the black community it doesn’t mean you win this tournament.”
Johnson’s home life is also featured in the documentary, with his wife Cookie Johnson, whom he has been married to since 1991, providing regular interviews. Johnson’s son EJ Johnson also talks about his relationship with his father.
What is the release date of They Call Me Magic?
Call Me Magic will be shown for the first time on Apple TV + on April 22, 2022. The series will consist of 4 episodes. While the theme and message of encouragement may appeal to a large audience, the documentary has TV-MA ratings. Call Me Magic is directed by Rick Famuyiwa, director of shows including Brown Sugar, Our Family Wedding, and The Wood. Jordan Fudge and Jeremy Allen are good producers.

They Call Me Magic will also focus on Magic Johnson’s passion for HIV / AIDS, in which Barack Obama notes that “Magic is a good example for those who have the disease.” Johnson also talks about his business ventures including his movie series.
