Thor: Love and Thunder Update: The upcoming American superhero movie ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ is based on Thor, one of the most important characters of Marvel Comics. The film, once released, is going to be the twenty-ninth film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

It is the direct sequel to the 2017 film ‘Thor: Ragnarok’. But this time the film will feature another equally strong superhero besides Thor, the Norse God. Thor’s ex-girlfriend Jane Foster will be seen emerging as the Mighty Thor in this movie.

Taika Waititi directed the most recent movie which he discussed with Thor star Chris Hemsworth in January of 2018. The film has been described by scriptwriter Jennifer Kaytin Robinson as a romance movie. The character of Jane Foster was missing in the film ‘Thor: Ragnarok’ to which the new movie is a direct sequel.

But in this movie, Jane Foster is returning with a whole new dimension in her character. For this the screenwriters, Taika Waititi and Jennifer Kaytin Robinson are taking elements from the ‘Mighty Thor’ comic book written by Jason Aaron. ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ was finally announced officially in July of 2019.

About Jane Foster:

Stan Lee, Jack Kirby, and Larry Lieber created the Marvel comics character Jane Foster. The movie, we find her first time in the 2011 film ‘Thor’. In ‘Thor: The Dark World’ we left her reuniting with Thor on the Earth. Jane Foster is an astrophysicist who with two others first discovers Thor on Earth as he loitered there being banished from Asgard.

But she has more to offer than only being Thor’s romantic interest. Jane Foster adds a scientific dimension to the problems of the superhero world. She worked alongside Thor on Earth to resolute the issues that were being congregated on the land.

In ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ we will find Jane Foster going through treatment for cancer. At this stage, she acquires superhuman power quite like that of Thor’s own. She will take on the powers and mantle of Thor himself.

Popular and brilliant American actress Natalie Portman is born in Israel. She has acted in a number of blockbuster movies and received several accolades as well as critical acclamation for her performance. The actress, born in Jerusalem to her Jewish parents, is married to French choreographer and dancer Benjamin Millepied and has two children.

Among all the movies that Portman has starred in, many have received wide critical acclamation and done extremely well at the box office. The most important among them are ‘Star Wars: Episode I- The Phantom Menace, ‘Star Wars: Episode II- Attack of the Clones’, ‘Star Wars: Episode III- Revenge of the Sith’.

She received a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress in a Drama and an Academy Award for Best Actress for her role in ‘Black Swan’. She also received a Golden Globe Award for Best Supporting Actress for starring in ‘Closer’.

Her list of accolades carries two nominations for Academy Award too one of which is under the category of Best Supporting Actress for starring in ‘Closer’ and the other one is under the category of Best Actress for her role in ‘Jackie’. She was also nominated for two more Golden Globe Awards. One is under the category of Best Supporting Actress for the movie ‘Anywhere but Here’ and the other is under the category Best Actress in a Drama for playing in the movie ‘Jackie’.

In the upcoming movie ‘Thor: Love and Thunder’ the other cast members who will star alongside Portman are Chris Hemsworth in the titular role of Thor, Tessa Thompson as the new king of the New Asgard- Valkyrie, Christian Bale playing the role of Gorr the God Butcher, Chris Pratt reprising his role as Peter Quill aka Star-Lord, Jaimie Alexander starring as Sif, Pom Klementieff playing the role of Mantis,

Dave Bautista, Karen Gillan, Jeff Goldblum, and Vin Diesel reprising their respective roles as Dead the Destroyer, Nebula, Grandmaster, and Groot. It is now a matter of anticipation as to how Jane Foster is going to turn into the Mighty Thor in the upcoming movie. The film is set to release on July 8, 2022.
