Squid Game Getting theatrical Release in LA And NY

Squid Game has already become one of the most-watched TV series in Netflix history. Korean drama as well as K-Pop, influence and claim their attention all over the globe. It’s not new that people are getting really attached to Korean culture.

After releasing on 17th September 2021 Squid Game has now become a ‘global phenomenon. As among 83 countries where Squid Game streamed, it ranked first in 81 countries of them without Turkey and Denmark.

This super hit Netflix Originals series is now going to be on cinemas for the first time in Los Angeles and New York. As ‘Variety’ informed, the Korean series is now scheduled to air on consecutive Saturdays starting from February 12th. This series will air in Pacific Palisades in LA and West 58th Street in New York at Netflix’s own Bay Theater.

All the fans can watch Squid Game on the big screen after purchasing the tickets. The screening will start on February 12th with 1-4 episodes at noon. Then the final episodes will air next Saturday on 19th February at the same time. There will also be an hour-long interval between episodes.

As the awards season is going in the US, these screening and ticket purchasing numbers will get Squid Game a Screen Actors Guild award. ‘We Got This Covered’ disclosed this Korean series is also has its nomination for Outstanding Performance by an Ensemble in a Drama Series, Outstanding Performance by a Male Actor in a Drama Series for Lee Jung-jae, Outstanding Performance by a Female Actor in a Drama Series for Jung Ho-Yeon, and a final award for its stunts.

The results of this nomination will reveal to the fans after the winner announcement of the SAG awards.

Not only via Netflix but also Squid Game gained spotlight through “TikTok” and Instagram reels among teenagers all across the globe. It started going trending with people sharing videos, playing games that appeared in Squid Game.

As ANI discovered, between 2015-2020 Netflix has nearly invested 700 million US Dollars in Korean series and films. And planning on investing more this year. As Netflix stated Squid Games’ popularity only 5% of viewers are Korean.

It’s also dubbed in 13 different languages and has 31 different subtitles. As from search, it stated that, watching K-dramas nearly doubled in the previous two years in the western countries.

The unexpected success of the series was caused because of the speedy and thorough expansion of classic Korean Dramas and the popularity of Korean bands in the United States, European countries, Latin America starting with Asia. Basically, the sudden uprise popularity of K-Dramas can be a reason for this big success.

It’s easy to exclaim that the series fans are very excited and overjoyed by the news. They are now supporting and praising their stars through social media. On their newest achievement and earning a new milestone.
