The Orville Season 3 Updates: The Orville is getting ready to return after an almost three-year gap. On March 10, 2022, Hulu will premiere The Orville: New Horizons, a sci-fi comedy in the spirit of Galaxy Quest. In the new first-look shot, fans will see some familiar faces as well as some new ones.

The teaser graphic depicts Orville’s bridge crew as well as other distinguished authorities. Seth MacFarlane plays Captain Ed Mercer, who is also the show’s creator and executive producer, and Adrianne Palicki plays Commander Kelly Grayson, who is also his ex-wife. The two leads have had an on-again, off-again relationship for the first two seasons, which will almost probably continue in The Orville Season 3.

Victor Garber (Alias, Titanic) will play Admiral Halsey, while Bruce Boxleitner (Babylon 5) will play President Alcuzan, and Senator Balask will be played by the late Lisa Banes (Gone Girl, Nashville), who passed away earlier this year.

Lieutenant Gordon Malloy (Scott Grimes) sits in the first row with rookie Ensign Charly Burke (Anne Winters, 13 Reasons Why). Penny Johnson Jerald, Peter Macon, J. Lee, Mark Jackson, Chad L. Johnson, Penny Johnson Coleman, Jessica Szohr, and the late Norm Macdonald, who died earlier this year, feature in the sitcom. The 100’s Eliza Taylor is also scheduled to appear in the new season.

The Orville Season 3 Synopsis

According to the official Season 3 synopsis, The Orville Season 3 will span ten episodes and take the Orville crew further than they’ve ever gone before as they continue to explore the galaxy while navigating “both the mysteries of the universe and the complexities of their own interpersonal relationships.”

Although the third season’s release was continually postponed due to pandemic-related filming concerns, Orville’s move to Hulu was announced in July 2019.

Despite the show’s abnormally extended absence, Jordan Helman, Hulu’s president of scripted originals, has expressed interest in a fourth season.

Earlier this year, Hulu published a teaser trailer containing audio from the upcoming season from famous voices, hinting at longer missions for the Orville crew, interpersonal turmoil, and explosive encounters with unknown species.
