First, the motion controls of the game required recalibration from the Wii Motion Plus and precision to hit enemies. Second, Link’s companion Fi is notorious for interrupting the game constantly. Apart from these major flaws, the game was also criticized for its pace.

The HD version has improved some of the more controversial elements of the game. The game now has quality-of-life features.

The game now gives the players an option to ignore Fi. The number of item descriptions has been reduced and tilt controls have been added. The game’s motion controls also work better now compared to the Wii Motion Plus.

This version of the game has become the definitive version. Even though it is a disappointment that this is the only major celebration for Zelda’s 35th anniversary, the massive improvements that The Legend of Zelda: Skyward Sword saw the call for celebration in itself.
