Marvel’s What if … ?: These 6 huge changes result from episode 2 in the MCU

DRP lists the 6 huge changes that will take place in episode 2 of “Marvels What If …?” for the future of the MCU.
One tiny decision, one moment changes everything: ” What If …? “, The first animated Marvel series on Disney + , is about a kind of butterfly effect that changes the future of the MCU as we have known it forever.
While Marvel viewers in episode 1 of “What If …?” For a while, we couldn’t help but feel like we were only seeing the story of ” Captain America: The First Avenger ” with Captain Carter as the main character, episode 2 of the MCU series now demonstrates the full potential of the what-if idea.
Instead of Peter Quill, “Black Panther” T’Challa becomes the star-lord known from the “Guardians of the Galaxy” films – and the effects on the alternate timeline are enormous!
In the following, we list the 6 biggest changes for you, episode 2 of “What If …?” shows.

1: The Ravagers become a force of good

While the Star-Lord played by Chris Pratt wants to hawk the so-called Orb (or the infinity stone it contains) for his personal gain, the much more noble T’Challa has formed a troupe from Yondus Ravagers that fights for good – and like the legendary earthly hero Robin Hood steals from the rich to give to the poor.
This not insignificant change from episode 2 of “Whaf If …?” then leads on the alternative timeline of the show even to the fact that the Ravagers prevented the invasion of Drax’s home planet Kylos – and the giant never lost his family and never joined the Guardians of the Galaxy (but only in the ” Selfie scene “in the bar from episode 2 can be seen briefly).

2: Thanos gives up his genocide plan from “Avengers: Infinity War”

If this change in the main MCU timeline was not big enough, you should be satisfied now: In episode 2 of “What If …?” the insane titan Thanos gives up his supposedly noble plan known from “Avengers: Infinity War” to wipe out half of life in the universe.
T’Challa as Star-Lord was able to beat Thanos from “What If …?” Obviously convince in a kind of philosophical debate of the flawed news of his intention, and Thanos then even joined the Ravagers – even if he still directs the conversation here and there to his original “Infinity War” plan. So, at some level, this Thanos still seems intrigued by his genocide plot.

3: The Collector becomes the most powerful gang boss in the galaxy

Since the supervillain Thanos is out of the game, the collector knew from “Guardians of the Galaxy” is now the most powerful gang boss in the galaxy. He even manages to make the Black Order, consisting of Corvus Glaive, Ebony Maw, Proxima Midnight, and Cull Obsidian, work for himself instead of Thanos.
The artifacts collected by the collector in episode 2 of “Marvels What If …?” own, demonstrate their true power and strength. So he clearly defeated Hela, the goddess of death known from “Thor: Day of Decision” – and even took her extremely powerful Necrosword undamaged.

4: Both Thor and Captain America are believed to have passed away

However, Hela does not seem to have become the Collector’s only victim by far. Captain America’s vibranium shield and Thor’s hammer Mjolnir can be recognized among his treasures and weapons.
This suggests that the Collector or his Black Order visited both Asgard and Earth and most likely also killed the two formidable heroes – even if episode 2 of “What If …?” this never shows beyond doubt.5: The Guardians of the Galaxy never formed!
Under point 1 it was read that Drax was in the alternate timeline of “Marvel’s What If …?” Episode 2 never joined the Guardians of the Galaxy. Rocket Raccoon, Groot, and Gamora are not mentioned at all in Episode 2. And Peter Quill is busy cleaning his Dairy Queen on earth …Very clear: Because T’Challa became Star-Lord, the Guardians of the Galaxy never formed in their known form. Instead of the hero troops, the Ravagers have taken the place of fighting for the good (see point 1).

6: Ego visits the earth

In the last scene of “Marvels What If …?” Episode 2, the Celestial Ego visits his son Peter Quill on Earth. Viewers of “Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2” know that the powerful ego turns out to be a villain who only wants to use Peter.
But can a Peter Quill, who never set out into space, resist his overpowering god-father? This may show another upcoming episode from “Marvels What If …?” Season 1.
