Outer Banks Season 3: JJ and Kiara as a couple? Creators Respond (SPOILERS)

Outer Banks Season 3 Updates: In season 2 of Outer Banks on Netflix, John B (Chase Stokes) and Sarah Cameron (Madelyn Cline) are still in love. On the other hand, JJ (Rudy Pankow), Kiara (Madison Bailey), and Pope (Jonathan Daviss) are in a love triangle. But will JJ and Kiara finally be a couple in the possible season 3? Outer Banks: Kiara and JJ as a couple in season 3?

Outer Banks Season 2 is out now on Netflix, and if you haven’t watched all of the episodes, don’t read this article which contains spoilers! Netflix subscribers were able to find John B (Chase Stokes), Sarah Cameron (Madelyn Cline), JJ (Rudy Pankow), Kiara (Madison Bailey) or even Jonathan Daviss (Pope). And while John B and Sarah are a couple (like their cast Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline ), this season 2 also showed the couple formed by Kiara and Pope. Except that Kiara has left Pope, she prefers to remain friends with him when he has had feelings for her for a long time.

And it looks like Kiara could date JJ in the possible Outer Banks Season 3 . Indeed, all the clues point to a future couple between Kiara and JJ. While already, she seemed to have more chemistry with JJ in season 1 of Outer Banks, she got closer to him again in season 2 after breaking up with Pope. They showed their support and created an emotional connection.
When John B’s van got stuck in the swamp, they went on a rescue mission together and supported each other. When the Pogues were locked up and they were talking about their dreams for the future, JJ spoke of a trip where he can surf, fish, and cook and Kiara asks if he has room for her on this trip. And at the end of Outer Banks Season 2 , Kiara saves JJ and stays with him, hugging him when he’s injured.

And while even Madison Bailey and Rudy Pankow, the cast of Kiara and JJ, believe this romantic relationship is possible, the creators of Outer Banks have spoken to Entertainment Weekly. Josh Pate has indeed assured that season 3 of the Netflix series will be “romantic”. “It’s something that we really liked about Season 1, it’s less of an element of Season 2 that we really want to come back to. It was the plan, kind of character architecture towards the opening. romances in Outer Banks Season 3, ” he said.
“We didn’t want to just throw out Pope and Kiara either, we had it all built and we wanted to let that happen,” explained Shannon Burke. Josh Pate added, “Teen romance and the teen soap opera is a big part of the show. We wanted to explore the Kiara-Pope relationship but obviously, we’re aware of what fans think about JJ and Kiara . ”
The relationship between Kiara and JJ, “we wanted to tease this for the third season,” he assured, “We didn’t want to do it immediately, but we really want to do it just because it took us by surprise, like the audience reaction to JJ and Kiara and the rooting for that romance. So we were immediately open to that, as it sounds like an interesting idea to explore but we kind of left it for Season 3 ” .
