Virtua Fighter 5 Updates: “Virtua Fighter 5” is the fifth game in Sega’s “Virtua Fighter” series and a direct sequel to “Virtua Fighter 4”. It was released in Japanese slot machines, PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360, on July 12, 2006.
“Virtua Fighter 5 R” in 2008 and “Final Showdown” in 2010, “Final Showdown” was released as a downloadable game in June 2012 for PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360.
SEGA has announced “Virtua Fighter 5 Ultimate Showdown”, a new remake that will be released exclusively for PlayStation 4 next week. Ultimate Showdown will be released on June 1st, and after ten years of absence, SEGA’s Virtua Fighter series will return to consoles.
Ultimate Showdown is a remake of the game that was originally released for arcades in 2006 before it was released on PS3 and Xbox 360 in 2007. According to IGN, the gameplay and combat will remain the same, but the game’s graphics will be recreated in Ryu Ga Gotoku Studio‘s Dragon Engine.
The Game Ultimate Showdown trailer not only reveals the legacy of the franchise but also the enhancement of the past that the new version offers. This new edition could make Sega a top-notch esports publisher again.
The engine was recently used for entries in the Yakuza series, including Yakuza 2 Remake, Yakuza: Like a Dragon, and the spin-off game Judgment. The new version also promises new music for each stage, a new user interface, and a new opening theater. Online functions such as a spectator mode, tournaments, and a lobby system will also be introduced.
Now, Virtua Fighter fans can be sure that Sega will return, give them nostalgic gifts, and have the opportunity to show off their most epic fighting skills. From a big question mark to a surprising announcement and release date, this game has come a long way quickly.
