Asus releases updates for the Zenfone 8 and 8 Flip, ROG Phone 5 and 3, Zenfone 6 too

Zenfone 8 and 8 Flip Updates: The Asus has gone on to release major updates for its flagship phones along with ROG and dew others.

Asus has been working heavily on its new flagships even after weeks after their releases, which is quiet evident from the arrival of new updates for the new Zenfone 8 and Zenfone 8 Flip. A few other phones have also been under the scan for some substantial update which does include the like of ROG Phone 5.

The recently launched flagships have got a bump in camera quality and time paired with call quality improvement. The smaller Zenfone 8 also received VoLTE support for three European carriers.

Here’s what has been updated on Asus Zenfone 8 and 8 Flip

Optimized Phone call quality, along with the improved camera quality of the phone. The Zenfone will now have enabled the VoLTE on Telekom, Germany, VoLTE on Tele2, Russia, and VoLTE & VoWiFi on O2 Czech Republic ( All on the Zenfone 8 Only).

The Asus ROG Phone 5 has also received a number of fixes for a bunch of bugs as well as the new April security patch with firm version 18.0840.2104.47. Below we have listed all updates in form of pointers.

Update for the Android Security patch to 2021 – 04 Issues, where the 5G connection would be diverted to system mode, has been fixed Fixed the issue of too small Chinese text in photo album editing

Issues on the accounts sync where the account would not automatically re-enable after changing the system have been fixed

Fixed an issue where the refresh rate for Chrome was locked when opening YouTube in a window
Fixed an issue where notifications were displayed abruptly when calling via We Chat

The older version of the ROG Phone 3 also received this April patch, several bug fixes, as well as VoLTE/VoWiFi support for Russia’s MTS with the 17.0823.2104.147 update. The update has enabled VoLTE/ Vo WiFi on MTS in Russia. The update also fixed an issue where the screen cannot be output through HDMI to the ASUS MG279Q monitor.

The Zenfone 6 has also got a new security patch but it is not clear as of now what the version of the update is, the update includes an Android security patch with an updated APN version. This also fixed an issue where the status bar cannot slide out when playing video games or other games in full-screen modes.
