Unreal Engine 5 Updates: Epic Games have unveiled the early access of Unreal Engine 5 for developers and creators through a blog post. Now, the UE5 seems to have got an entirely fresh look. Not only this, it has been reportedly made easier, faster, and more pleasing to use. This surely wouldn’t be available to all of the players currently, but rest assured its going to come for all really soon.
Epic Games has said on the website that the game is being made faster, easier, and easier to use. There was also a 15-minute long demo called “Valley of the Ancient”. In it, there are a plethora of new tools and features that have been highlighted.

With this launch of UE5, Epic Games is aiming to propel the development of Open-World projects, in a “faster, easier, and more collaborative manner” for teams of all sizes.
If developers and creators want to get early access, they need to visit the company’s official website and sign up for the program.
If you read their blog post, there have been some new features that have been stressed upon. These include the Nanite, Lumen, and Open worlds. The new Nanite feature would help the developers to carve out games with excellent geometric details which would surely take a shorter time.

The Lumen feature would provide a solution for the global illumination project. Not only this, but Lumen would further help in assumptions of the total light density over the game’s geometry. For eg. It would help in changing the sun’s angle with the time of day, turning on a flashlight, or even in opening an exterior door.

The Open Worlds feature would now allow team members to work in a more collaborative manner. They would now allow them to work simultaneously on projects without any issues. The Nanite and Lumen features are currently compatible with Windows and Next-gen consoles. These new features would surely make the experience much intuitive for the players.
Unreal Engine 5 was officially revealed on the 13th of May, 2020. It currently supports all existing systems including the new consoles like the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S. The game is expected to come out of its beta phase in early 2022.
