M1X Mac Mini: Design Modifications In The Upcoming

M1X Mac Mini Updates: Jon Prosser of Front Page Tech recently leaked the redesigns of the forthcoming M1X Mac mini before its launch. He gives us an absolute gander at its all-new design. This comes shortly after Prosser also spilled the plans of the Google Pixel 6, Google Pixel Watch, and M2 MacBook Air and unveiled their designs. This latest version of the M1X Mac mini is expected to be released in 2021, either during the Apple Worldwide Developers Conference (WWDC) in June or at any other event later this fall.

The last recent M1 Mac mini was released back in November of 2020. The Apple-designed M1 chipset was its main feature of attraction. It had the capacity to provide a much greater better performance boost compared to previous Intel models.

Apart from the M1 chip, however, the rest of the hardware outside remained unaltered. Today the M1 Mac mini has the exact same design as that Apple introduced back in 2018, with that already a minor transformation of the unibody design from 2010.

The M1X Mac Mini Has A Thinner Look & Has More Ports

Apple is expected to deliver another update to the Mac mini in 2021. Alongside a fresh-out-of-the-box new M1X processor chipset, it will also be released with the biggest design upgrade the series has ever seen. Firstly Apple is surely indicating that it’s moving away from its unibody aluminum plan.

Though the frame of the M1X Mac mini will still be of aluminum, the top will now include a plexiglass-like material. Prosser says this could be utilized for new shadings like the M1 iMac of an intriguing two-tone look. The M1X mini has been designed more slender than the M1 model.

This scale down makes it more “mini” than it’s ever been previously. Gandering the back of the M1X Mac mini, things get much seriously fascinating. In place of the universal two-prong power cable, it will have the magnetic power connector introduced on the M1 iMac. Besides that, there are two full-size USB-A ports, four USB-C/Thunderbolt 3 ports, an ethernet jack, and an HDMI port.

However, the headphone jack is absent for some reason. One will also notice that the cutout of the fan has been replaced from the back frame to the bottom.

In general M1X Mac mini is coming up with a quite promising design. A thinner version, with two more USB-C ports, and additional power of the M1X chipset, make the existing version all better.
