The second installment of the upcoming series was supposed to be the show’s final installment, but Netflix changed its mind and renewed Lucifer for a sixth and ultimate season.
As a result, the fifth season of Lucifer is divided into two parts and contains 16 episodes.

Over a family dinner in Part 2, Lucifer and God will consider their disagreements and their estranged bond. The promo for the upcoming installments teases an all-out battle between twin brothers Michael and Lucifer.
After his father declared his retirement, Lucifer will fight to become God in the eight episodes that follow. Lucifer co-showrunner Joe Henderson implied “a lot of” to arrive here between the father and sons in an interview with John Siuntres on the World Balloon Channel On YouTube.
“Let’s just assume that Lucifer and Dad are going to have lots of talks about where they’ve been, but that’s the sort of issue they’ll be talking about,” he said.
“The Lucifer-God — and actually the God-Amenadiel things — is like, just, this was a lot of fun to play with,” he said, “and as you’ll see in the promo, Dennis Haysbert doesn’t really lack for moments of suspense and irony.”
Where is Lucifer Season 5 Part 2 being shot?
Part two of Lucifer season five was actually filmed in Los Angeles. Filming also occurred on the Warner Bros. film studio in Burbank, California. The very first season of the series was filmed on location in Los Angeles, and the second season was filmed in Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada.
In season three, Lucifer finally returned to Los Angeles, California, where it has stayed ever since. Aerial scenes of the building are also taken from the Sunset Tower Hotel.
Several locations, which include Burnaby City Hall and the Parker Centre, are often used to shoot the LAPD office buildings over the decades.
