Perry Mason Season 2 Updates:  The show, Perry Mason is a legal drama set in 1932 Los Angeles and based on novels and short stories penned by Erle Stanley Gardner.The show is directed by Tim Van Patten and Deniz Gamze Ergüven. The show was first premiered on June 21, 2020, on HBO and had 8 episodes. The show saw an insurgent in the number of viewers as the story went on ahead.

According to reports from various sources a d Hollywood Reporter, the original showrunners for the show, Ron Fitzgerald and Rolin Jones won’t be coming back for the second season. They will instead be replaced by Michael Begler as Jack Amiel. Both these new showrunners for the show are well known for their involvement with the famous series, ‘The Knick’. This news is a shocker for many as this will have a huge impact on the response for the second season of the show.

Perry Mason Season 2: Changed Showrunner

Fitzgerald and Jones had previously had a conversation with Collider talking about their plans for the second season of the show which indicates that they had an interest in continuing the work with the show;

Jones: There’s definitely a plan. We’ve got 87 books that we can dive into and take whatever we need from. There is plenty of future out there for Perry Mason, should the gods of HBO financing be so inclined to give us that opportunity. There’s plenty there. I think we’re just scratching the surface with a lot of stuff. There’s a lot to do.

This isn’t the only surprise or shocker for the fans. Another change for season 2 is that Tatiana Maslany won’t be returning for the second season of the show. She was a central figure in the show as sister Alice, a wannabe prophet who claimed that she could communicate with God.
