Demon Slayer Season 2 Updates: In Japan, the recent anime film ‘Demon Slayer Mugen Train’ has smashed all box office records. Find out when Demon Slayer Season 2 will be released.
Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba has been one of the most successful anime series in recent years. The anime is based on an equally famous manga series of the same name. Season 1 of the anime was highly regarded as one of the greatest shows of 2019, and it went on to win the ‘Best Anime’ award at the 2019 New type Anime Awards. At the 2020 Crunchyroll Anime Awards, it was also named ‘Anime of the Year.’
“Demon Slayer the Movie: Mugen Train” broke box office records after earning US$474 million worldwide, making it the first Japanese and anime film to do so. So where will we be at the end of season two?
The protagonists in the film pursue Rengoku Kyojuro, the Pillar of Fire, who has been tasked with solving the mysterious endless train where people have been found to vanish.
They face off against the Lower Moon One, Enmu, who intends to invade the heroes’ dreams and break their metaphysical hearts. When Enmu became entangled in the waggon, it was up to Tanjiro and Inosuke to cut its throat in the engine room.
When Akaza, one of the Upper Moon Three, came, it was a showdown between him and Kyojuro. However, Akaza escaped, leaving Kyojuro mortally injured, but not before instructing the heroes to visit his estate to learn about fighting flame techniques.
The anime series was renewed for a second season, which will premiere in 2021. The plot would pick up after the events of “Mugen Train” in Yoshiwara’s red-light district, where demon activity is rampant.
Readers of the manga are hopefully looking forward to the fight between Upper Rank Six Daki and Gyutaro in this Entertainment District Arc. Who knows if this will ever be written down?
Future of Demon Slayer Season 2
There is no set date for the release of Season 2 on Crunchyroll as of yet. Fans are both aware that it will be released later this year. Unfortunately, Netflix viewers will have to wait until 2022 or 2023 to watch their favourite film.
Currently, “Mugen Train” is also premiering in other parts of the world. The film will be released on digital platforms such as Apple TV, Microsoft Store, Vudu, Google Play, PlayStation Store, and Amazon in the United States on June 22, 2021.
“Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba” is a Japanese anime series based on Koyoharu Gotge’s manga of the same name. Tanjiro Kamado, the protagonist, becomes a demon slayer after his family is slain by demons; while his sister, Nezuko, is transformed into one. The manga series registered 150 million copies in circulation worldwide in February 2021.
According to a recent Crunchyroll article, Demon Slayer: Kimetsu no Yaiba THE FILM Mugen Train has been Japan’s second-biggest weekend box office success in history. In just 10 days, the film grossed over 10 billion yen (US $95 million). This makes it the fastest film in history to make this amount of money.
The recent anime film dethroned Spirited Away’s 19-year reign at the top in less than half the time. Spirited Away had surpassed the 10 billion Yen mark in just 25 days. Last year, Your Name hit 10 billion Yen in 28 days and Weathering with You reached it in 34 days.
