He wrote an autobiographical book “ I’m special: and other lies we tell ourselves” about his life as a gay man with cerebral palsy and soon adapted into a television series “SPECIAL” for Netflix which premiered in April 2019.
The second season of SPECIAL is set to premiere on May 20th, which, to the disappointment of the fans, is going to be the last season of the show.

The trailer of the show wastes no times and dives right into the show to pick it from from where it was left off last in season 1. It shows Ryan coming at peace with his disability and accepting it as a part of his identity which aggravated his northern Karen and leads to a dispute between them that stretches for way too long.
Ryan’s acceptance of his disability does not in any way assures it’s acceptance by other people as wells MD he continues to face discrimination at his work place. His life would get more difficult in season 2 as he would face writer’s block; plus, what is a chaotic life without a love angle to garnish it.
He meets a man named Tanner, who is already on a committed relationship and things are bound to get steamy. Well who else wants to skip the wait and jump directly into season 2 to see his life come together on track finally. We all know he deserves it.
Unlike season 1, this time the episodes would be longer for a duration of thirty minutes each instead of 15 minutes. Now it’s the extra time, the show might develop a separate storyline for the supporting characters not so much around Ryan.
The trailer does hint into the lives of Karen and Kim. Karen, after the dispute with Ryan decides to look around for once for a love for herself and a sort of self fulfilment and one also sees Kim dealing with a dilemma regarding her love life as well as work life.
