Belgravia Season 2 Updates: Belgravia concluded its season, which streamed at the start of 2020, on an emotional and dramatic ground keeping the fans wondering about the next series. As the stars talk through it, will the next series go on air?
Belgravia, written by Write Julian Fellowes, Downtown Abbey famed writer, was one of the latest period dramas that aired on ITV. Based on a novel of the same name which was published in 2016, the series was based on how a family secret was kept hidden for decades. It was located in London and the gripping plot had the audience welcome another season warmly. The characters created by Fellowes were very much relatable and lovable which touched the audiences deeply. The secret that was finally to be revealed, created a disturbance in one of London’s finest zone.
Belgravia: Recap of the First Season
The story of Belgravia Season 2 is based on the Trenchard family of the 19th Century who had gone up the list of social ranks with the efforts of the patriarch and businessman James Trenchard( played by Philip Glenister). But the success of ranking up and enjoying patriarchy was deteriorated by the news of the secret that was about to come out.
A few years ago, James and Anne Trenchard’s(Tamsen Greig) daughter Sophia anticipated that she had committed a fake marriage with his lover and aristocrat Edmund Bellasis( Jeremy Neumark Jones) when she got pregnant. She decided to give the baby away before dying when Edmund died in the Battle of Waterloo and to make sure that her family’s name wasn’t dishonored. As her daughter wished, Anne gave away her grandson but years later she met her grandson Charles Pope but didn’t reveal her identity. But she told the truth to Caroline, Charles’ grandmother. At end of the season, it was found that the marriage was legal between Edmund and Sophia and Charles was the heir to the Brockenhurst fortune.
Is There a Possibility of Belgravia Season 2?
Though it was made clear that the season has ended according to the novel by Write Julian Fellowes inside six episodes, still fans expect another season. If at all another series is on the card of the creators, it would rather come in the spring of 2021. Fellowes to one the magazine, The Sun, said, “If there was to be another season, then a whole new plot and story has to be written with new characters”.
