The Suicide Squad Is Completely Done Including VFX Confirms James Gunn

The Suicide Squad Updates: Director ‘ James Gunn’ announced on Twitter that ” The Suicide Squad” is completely done including VFX. The film is set to  release in theater and on HBO Max this summer.

The fist Suicide Squad movie was written and directed by David Ayer and was released in 2016. Through the film was a commercial success, film grossed over $740 million at the worldwide box office, David Ayer’s suicide squad didn’t received well overall by the critics and fans it was because it’s underdeveloped characters and muddled plot.

Guardians of the Galaxy director James Gunn to take the lead on The Suicide Squad, which has been described that it will be a soft reboot of Ayer’s 2016 film. The film will be featured as a standalone story with no direct connection to the previous installment other than of returning few characters.

The Suicide Squad Including VFX

Viola Davis as Amanda Waller, Margot Robbie as Harley Quinn, Jai Courtney as Captain Boomerang, and Joel Kinnaman as Rick Flag headline the returning cast, while new characters that includes Idris Elba’s Bloodsport, John Cena’s Peacemaker, Peter Capaldi as The Thinker, and Sylvester Staloonei king shark.

According to Gunn the post-production of The film is completely done, including the VFX, ahead of its release in August. Gunn also said that he always planned to have the film to finished this early, it’s  seems to be unusual for a tentpole superhero film to finish the post-production this far ahead of its release.

This is because not a single shot of pickups or reshoots was required. According to Gunn all that left is marketing, toys and publicity.

Gunn’s announced in early February that The Suicide Squad was fully finished and cut, and not the post-production which includes VFX, is completely finished and the film is ready to be seen.

Gunn received very much creative freedom with the red band trailer which received a record setting 150 million views in it’s very first week, the decision of Warner bros.’ regarding the movie, that contain the decision to bring on Gunn and have it be R-rated, appear to be paying dividends early on ahead of its release in August.
