Dragon Age 4 Teases Character Class With New BioWare Concept Art

Published by

Dragon Age 4 Updates: Following a conversation between BioWare executive producer Christian Dailey and Dragon Age artistic director Matthew Goldman on Twitter, new Dragon Age 4 artwork has been shared.

Dragon Age 4 is the next installment in a fan-favorite series that has been in the making for months, amid many high-profile departures from BioWare and obvious changes in design strategy and goals during its development. What little is known about Dragon Age is encouraging, including recent news.

Late in February, it was revealed that the next Dragon Age game would be single-player only, leaving aside the multiplayer gaming features that were so controversial in Dragon Age: Inquisition.

Considering BioWare’s latest foray into multiplayer with the ill-fated Anthem, the choice to concentrate on single-player – which has traditionally been a fundamental part of the Dragon Age franchise’s growth – appears to be a reasonable one and one that has been well-received by the game’s fanbase.

Though details on Dragon Age 4 are still sparse, Dailey and Goldman collaborated earlier this week on Twitter to help build anticipation for the game with the latest imagery Goldman tweeted, tagging Dailey in the post, that Dragon Age fans might like “a little pick me up.”

Before revealing a new Dragon Age 4 character class concept art shot, Dailey said, “Perfect!” Commenters on social media have flocked to the design art, with thousands of views and tweets excited to see more.

Due to the hero’s staff, the latest Dragon Age 4 artwork tends to represent a fairy creature, but the majority of their attire – and their environment – have a steampunk feel to them.

A garbage bag sits in an alley illuminated by red lights, and rain falls in the background, adding to the atmosphere of a bleak, progress-oriented world. With the announcement that the next Dragon Age will be set in Tevinter, a strong nation of Thedas with a plethora of mystical inventions, it’s only natural that the aesthetic will vary from prior games.

With very little information available and a dramatic shift in production focus, the next Dragon Age game may be a long time coming. However, rumors about the game’s single-player focus and development, as well as beautiful concept art like the one posted by Dailey and Goldman, point to a game that returns to the elements that have made BioWare RPGs so popular in the past. That’s an interesting possibility, and it’ll be interesting to keep an eye on Twitter conversations like this as the game develops.
