DOOM Eternal Is Getting More Updates After The Ancient Gods Part 2

Published by

DOOM Eternal Updates: DOOM Eternal will get more updates later this year, according to id Software developers, after the arrival of The Ancient Gods – Part Two.

With the introduction of The Ancient Gods – Part One, a plot extension that brought yet more flavor to the storyline players encountered in the base game, the studio’s post-launch support for the new DOOM entry began in October 2020.

The very first episode of The Ancient Gods featured new enemy forms and three previously unrecognized stages, in contrast to plot material. The Ancient Gods – Part Two contributed to the overall experience in a similar way, essentially wrapping up the Slayer arc that id Software started five years earlier in DOOM (2016).

Fans who buy the recently released Part Two DLC will also check out the Hellbreaker, the Doom Slayer’s latest sledgehammer weapon. The Ancient Gods material isn’t the end of Id Software’s post-launch preparations for DOOM Eternal.

DOOM Eternal: What the Producer has to say about the game?

Executive producer Marty Stratton and game director Hugo Martin thanked supporters for their continuing support of DOOM Eternal in a video message posted by id Software’s official Twitter account.

The two developers reported at the end of the video that “more DOOM Everlasting patches” would be released later this year. There was no talk of a definite release date, and neither Stratton nor Martin provided any insight into what the changes could entail.

New updates may result in the release of a slew of new material. Late last year, for example, a free upgrade added the Super Gore Nest Master Level and the Ultra Nightmare difficulty to the mix.

Next-gen updates for the PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S are one piece of news that fans are extremely excited about. Id Software posted a few info about such a release a few months ago, but nothing new about the ports has emerged since then.

The gunman, on the other hand, will take advantage of the modern hardware without any additional bells and whistles. Hands-on demos weeks before the console’s release revealed the Xbox Series X’s capacity to boot up DOOM Eternal in under five seconds.
