Will there be a The Misfit of Demon Academy Season 2?
The Misfit of Demon King Academy has not been formally renewed for season 2 at the time of publication, but the anime is extremely expected to return.
Renewals of anime typically depend on two variables: popularity and source content. Unfortunately, for season 1, we do not have the official viewing figures, but the anime seems to be highly successful with viewers, rating an impressive 7.49/10 on MyAnimeList, and 7.5/10 on IMDB, 4.6/5 on Crunchyroll.
There is also ample source material to create a sequel season, with only the first three volumes of the original web novel series completing the first installment. Volume 8 is officially expected to be published on 10 October.
Interestingly, a remark made recently by a well-known leaker in the anime world named ‘Ranobe Sugoi’ tweeted after the Season 1 finale that ‘The Demon King Academy’s Misfit is too fine to have just 01 Season Academy’
Though we should still take details like this with a pinch of salt, Sugoi will then respond with “I have not confirmed anything” to a response on the tweet. NOT YET yet.

In October 2019, the Misfit of Demon King Academy anime adaptation was announced, with the premiere of season 1 set to be in April 2020. Unfortunately, because of complications related to the coronavirus pandemic, this release date had to be moved back until July 2020.
Assuming that the anime will be formally renewed in the next two weeks and that Season 2 will have a similar production period of nearly nine months, the most likely timeframe is the summer 2021 premiere.
