Paul Rudd Movie: About a quarter of a century ago, the immortal Paul Rudd made his feature film debut in the cult classic Oblivious, but he was undeniably never a bigger celebrity than he is right now, due mainly to his appearance as the Ant-Man of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
He gradually began to capture a host of leadership roles in a variety of genres after slowly growing up the Hollywood ranks during the 2000s as a supporting player in hit comedies such as Anchorman, The 40-Year-Old Virgin, Knocked Up, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Role Models and I Love You, Man, proving himself more than capable as a dramatic artist.

In fact, Rudd’s relatable everyman charisma has made him one of the company’s most universally famous stars, but when he takes center stage in a film, the humor appears to be a little more out of the box and unconventional than the regular efforts he was always cast in by Judd Apatow.
A case in point is Our Fool Pal, the underrated 2011 outing of Jerry Peretz that went almost entirely under the radar when it was first published. Rudd stars as a burnout slacker who winds up being jailed by a probation officer for smuggling marijuana. He looks to his sisters for support after getting out of jail, and his carefree habits end up affecting their life in a variety of ways.
In the role, Rudd is as trustworthy as ever, and the film has an amazing supporting cast that includes Elizabeth Banks, Zooey Deschanel, Emily Mortimer, Rashida Jones, Hugh Dancy, Kathryn Hahn, Adam Scott, and Steve Coogan. Next month, on February 26th, our Fool Brother comes to Netflix and is well worth checking out for fans of both the star and the dramatic comedy genre in general.
