Season 4 of Episode 8 of Attack on Titan Review: Assassin’s Bullet

Attack on Titan Season 4 Episode 8 Review: In another exciting attack on Titan, the agony and anguish of battle are felt in full force as Eren’s spiritual status grows more suspect.

As casualties mount for both Marley and Eldia, “Assassin’s Bullet” painfully discusses the cost of war. Assassin’s Bullet guarantees that the member of the Survey Corps who dies is appropriately honored, yet the previous episode saw the Marley Warriors losing even more people who were important to Reiner, Gabi, and the rest of Marley, yet Attack on Titan does not even give Marley time to heal. Perspective has been an important aspect of this final season and it is interesting how the handling of these characters by Attack on Titan ultimately tells whom the viewer is forced to empathize with.

Attack on Titan Season 4: Episode 8 Review

The people of Marley are not given a chance to lament their defeats, so when Gabi’s vitriol spills over, their sorrow crystalizes in a manner that is far more deadly. Ultimately, logically speaking, it’s Gabi who owns the gun that takes away a career, but there’s someone else who set the bullet in motion even earlier.

Titan Season 4

The newest episode of Attack on Titan highlights how the recent fallout is liable for many metaphorical assassins and it seems like there are even more bullets about to be fired.

“Assassin’s Bullet” takes a bit of time to catch its breath after two episodes of strong combat. This is not just a slower episode, though, it’s one that casts a cloud of fear over everybody.

There are many occasions where shots hang on characters in gratitude or long beats looking at each other where the Survey Corps embrace one another.

For Attack on Titan, this emphasis on emotion is uncommon and it’s a big red flag that danger is just around the corner. The title ‘Assassin’s Bullet’ is meant to create suspense, and once Gabi chooses to enter Eldia’s airship, each of these elements works together.

“Assassin’s Bullet” contains warm character shots and link close-ups, but it uses these same techniques to represent dissatisfaction in turn. Scenes, where characters smile joyfully at their party reunion, are contrasted by Levi’s rant about just how much he hates the mask of Eren and also how it has become a sign of anger.

For its plot and characters, Attack on Titan has discussed many enlightening perspectives, but a new one that this episode enters is Eren losing the love of his own mates. There are some really strong characters that are about to carry out some spectacular attacks, but “Assassin’s Bullet” is a major message that we’re all just meat at the end of the day.
