Dear White People Season 4 Updates: ‘Dear White People’ is all set to be back on screen with season 4, also being called the show’s final season.

Here’s what we know so far about the final season of the Netflix comedy.

The series is a drama/comedy, based on the novel by Justin Simien with the same name. Just as the title suggests, Dear White People started life in a very controversial manner.

Though the novel received a film adaptation with the same name, the obsession over the title of the series was persistent around the internet for a long time.

Despite the controversy, the series gained popularity among the audience and was well-received by critics. Many acknowledged the fact that the series was superbly written, highlighting the satire behind it.

Dear White People premiered on Netflix in April 2017 with new series arriving every year since. Season 2 came in May 2018, Season 3 in August 2019, and just three months after went for renewal for the final season in Oct 2019.

Apart from the initial argle-bargle around the name, the series has proven to be great in terms of quality. When Netflix introduced a Black Lives Matter collection in summer 2020, which claimed that the series have savored a 700% boost in viewership.

Except for the core cast expected to return, only one other cast member has been announced thus far. Jeremy Tardy who played Rashid Bakr will not be appearing in this season due to contract disputes according to the actor who took to Twitter to post about it. It is expected to be released in summer  2021 if not later.

In counts, the final season will be the same as the previous ones and will be 10 episodes long. As he’s been tapped for the Lando Calrissian series for Disney+,  Justin Simien’s next project won’t be at Netflix
