The Conjuring: The Devil Made Me Do It was originally scheduled for rolling in the United States on September 11, 2020, but the COVID-19 pandemic dealt a blow on its release which was put off till June 4, 2021. The film is also stated to have a month-long simultaneous release on the HBO Max streaming service starting on that date which caused a stir as arising uncertainty in cutting down the net box-office collections.

On the front that it is a big-banner film but on a comparatively lower budget, this could potentially foreshadow a permanent change in how major film distribution works going forward but the prospect of digital streaming is suited in times of the pandemic.

Horror isn’t really a genre that requires theater trappings to be effective and though it might not rake in loads yet it is not to be overlooked.
