The third season of ” Virgin River ” was only recently officially confirmed and filming is already underway, but it will be a while before the new episodes appear. What is known so far about the start, plot, and cast, you can find out below.
Virgin River Season 3: Release Date
An exact start date for season 3 is not yet available. The first two seasons of the series appeared at the end of 2019 and 2020, respectively. It would therefore be logical for season 3 to appear at the end of 2021.
However, filming for the third season should have started in August and should be completed by December 11, 2020, as the English-language website What’s on Netflix reports. This seems to be confirmed by the following tweet, which shows a notice announcing the ongoing filming of the third season in September.
If filming is actually already underway, the new episodes could start earlier in spring or summer 2021. We will keep you informed about this.

Virgin River Season 3: Plot
Season 2 ended with a huge cliffhanger: Mel found Jack shot in his bar. In season 3 we will find out if Jack will survive his injury.
Showrunner Sue Tenney told TVLine that the question of who shot Jack could drag on for several seasons. Season 3 is unlikely to provide an answer to this question. However, there are already some suspects. We’ll tell you who it is.
It will also be clarified what is behind Doc’s mysterious diagnosis. According to Tenney, the diagnosis will cause problems for Doc in his relationship with Hope and in his work.
In addition, there will be a larger time jump between seasons 2 and 3 than between seasons 1 and 2.
