The series is based on Philip {Pullman’s best selling novels. The plot of the show revolves around a multi-world alternative universe where humans have animal friends called daemons, which are manifestations of human soul.
Season 1 revolved around Lyra, an orphan who set on a trail to find her lost best friend Roger. And on her way she discoveries a mysterious substance called Dust.

Season 2, is based on the book Subtle Knife. Lyra in seen in the city of Cittagazze, where she comes across Will. Lyra is endangered as she faces trouble from the Magisterium, the malevolent Mrs. Coulter.
