American Idol Season 19: Production Begins Amid the Pandemic

American Idol Season 19 Updates: America’s most popular singing TV reality show American Idol is all set to comeback with its nineteenth season. The team is ready to go on floors for production amid the global COVID19 pandemic with the new safety guidelines and protocols.

The ABC television series is basically an adaptation of Pop Idol and it was first aired on Fox on June 11, 2002. The series was revived after a halt of two years by ABC on 11 March 2018.

The previous season of the hit singing reality show was premiered on 16 February 2020 with Ryan Seacrest as host and the season was presented with remotely shot installments. Just Sam was announced the winner of American Idol S19 while Arthur Gunn finished as runner-up.

The competition show was renewed for its nineteenth season on May 15, 2020, and reportedly Seacrest would be returning as the host of the show along with  Perry, Bryan, and Richie as judges.

Although people are getting back to normalcy gradually the danger of the virus is not completely over so the normal in-person would be happening in California and not across the country.

According to reports, the filming of the show began on October 5 while contestants giving their auditions in front of the judges with all the precautionary measures. Also, the judges were provided with different seats and will have their own zones in the audition segment.

The new season will seem quite different to fans as the show is infamous for its judge table panel which includes three chairs for its panel and close interaction with fans will also be prohibited due to safety protocols.

Talking about the series, the show became an instant hit after it premiered for the first time in 2002 on Fox. It then successfully followed more seventeen seasons. The previous season was comparatively good in terms of viewership than before its revival on Fox. The average viewership of the previous season was 8.54 million.

The show is created by Simon Fuller and produced by Fremantle North America 19 Entertainment production company.
