The announcement of the Ozark Season 4 renewal has also indicated that this final season will be taken seriously. Instead of the usual 10 episodes, this one would have 14 episodes to wrap up Byde’s proverb.
In August 2020, Awards Focus interviewed Chris Mundy and shared that the Ozark team and Netflix had not yet decided on how to split the 14 episodes.
So there was no set time for fans to have to wait a few months or a year to get the last seven episodes. Mundy also pointed out that because fans would get the season in half, it was a delusion for writers.
Both halves need to please the audience and leave them wanting more in the first episode, but also equal to the gist of the final story.
Ozark is being filmed outside Atlanta, so Bateman spoke of expecting to get good test results every week and said it would be a challenge, but he was still happy to return to work at Ozark, even if that meant a repeated suspension of production due to COVID -19 positive results.
