Animal Kingdom Season 5 Updates: As per the reports of Deadline the TNT crime drama Animal Kingdom returns for its fifth season, Anthony Konechny has been added to the cast to recur the role of young Billy (Denis Leary).
Anthony Konechny has been earlier seen in memorable roles on Fox’s Almost Human, Lifetime’s Witches of East End, and The CW’s Supergirl.
The upcoming season is now underproduction of the half filmed season as the filming got a gap due to the global pandemic COVID 19.
Based on the 2010 Australian film of the same name by David Michod, the series debuted on TNT on June 14, 2016, and more three seasons were renewed later in the following years.
In the fourth season of the series, which finished in August 2019, fans witnessed the departure of Smurf(Ellen Barkin). Though it was a shocking twist, as TVLine’s Charlie Mason said that “the daring move suggests that the TNT drama will only become more compelling in Season 5.”
Animal Kingdom Season 5 Predictions
That prediction of Mason actually turned into reality with the fiery season finale of season 4. Barkin on her Twitter handles jokingly hinted that she wasn’t surprised with the way her character was written off saying “She left her boys a hit TV show.”
Regardless of how it was uncovered about the return of Ellen Barkin in the fifth season, keeping the tone and course of actions that happened earlier in mind, it is obvious that Smurf will be seen in the fifth season in some of the flashbacks scenes.
Currently, the production is going under strict government guidelines and it will reportedly have 13 episodes. Though the announcement of the renewal of the show happened last year and the fifth season was scheduled to be premiered in May 2020, but productions got a gap due to the pandemic and as of now no release dates have been announced.
