Mads Mikkelsen has replaced Johny Depp as Gellert Grindelwald in “Fantastic Beasts 3” as it has been officialy announced by Warner Bros.
Because of the serious libel case of Johny Depp in the UK, he was asked to resign from the contract of Warner Bros, And finally, he quit the franchise las month, Now it’s confirmed that Mads Mikkelsen has been taken for the role of Gellert Grindelwald in the upcoming part of Fantastic Beast 3.
Johnny Depp has already announced his exit from the Fantastic Beasts Season 3 on his Instagram, He wrote “I wish to let you know that I have been asked to resign by Warner Bros. from my role as Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts and I have respected and agreed to that request. The surreal judgement of the court in the UK will not change my fight to tell the truth and I confirm that I plan to appeal. My resolve remains strong and I intend to prove that the allegations against me are false. My life and career will not be defined by this moment in time.”
It will another experience watching Mads Mikkelsen as the new Gellert Grindelwald, as we have not seen him in any fantasy film in a major role till now, As Mads is famous for his roles in Pusher Film Trilogy, Casino Royale, Doctor Strange, and Rogue One: A Stra Wars Story.
Earlier Mads had reacted to the news as the rumors but on Wednesday it was officially announced by Warner Bros. that he will be playing Gellert Grindelwald in Fantastic Beasts 3.
The filming has already been started for the third installment of the Fantastic Beasts series, and Johnny Depp had shot for one day also, then the Warner Bros decided to drop Johny Depp form our favorite character.
Eddie Redmayne will be back with his role as Wizard Newt Scamander with Katherine Waterson, other important and key roles will be played by Dan Fogler, Jude Law, and Ezra Miller in the directorial venture of David Yates. And as per the Warner Bros Calendar, the movie will hit the theaters on 15th July, 2022 only one week after Captain Marvel 2. It would be interesting to watch these two big movies at the same time in the theaters.
