Call Your Mother a new sitcom that hits ABC for the 2020-21 season. While several shows on ABC are ready to start after the product is delayed due to the COVID-19 epidemic, Call Your Mother will not be among them.
Instead, the new sitcom will be the first game of next season for ABC television.
This sitcom is the first idea from Kari Lizer, who previously founded and co-produced The New Adventures of Old Christine. The show lasted for five years, prompting Lizer to criticize CBS, saying the cancellation was “sexual.”
Initially, the show was entitled My Village. Now titled, Call Your Mother, is the first show Lizer has had the opportunity to run since Old Christine’s New Adventures ended in 2010 – and he had a big name for leading actors.
Call Your Mother Season 1 Update
Kyra Sedgwick, a former Golden Globe and Emmy winner, leads the cast eight years after the end of her award-winning show The Closer. In Call Your Mother, she plays the role of Jean Raines, an empty nest mother who travels the world to rekindle her children’s lives.
These kids are played by Rachel Sennott as Jackie, her daughter, and Joey Bragg as Freddie, her son. Bragg is best known for the Disney Channel series Liv and Maddie, in which he played Joey.
An empty mother wondering how she ended up alone while her children lived their best lives thousands of miles away. Annoyed by the unsolicited and restricted text on their Facebook feed, she decides – most shockingly – that her place is in her family. First, you put them into their lives, and then you become a very important part of them.
The ABC has canceled the production of 16 different pilots this fall, and Season 1 was one of them. However, they went ahead and sent it to production.
Call Your Mother She should have been out this fall, but that has changed. Expect Calling Your Mom to hit early 2021, probably just in January.
