As the show runner had announced at a Television Academy Panel that They will certainly address the pandemic for the sure. They had said that “There’s no way to be a long-running medical show and not do the medical story of our lifetimes.”

and Giacomo had said once to Entertainment Tonight, that the new season will dive into the heart of pandemic . “We’re going to start the season about a month and a half [into] full COVID. It’s going to take place a little beyond where we left off in the last season … We’re not picking up right where we left off,”

So the Season will definitely deals the worldwide pandemic as well as the relationship between the characters.
