Selena Gomez began her career in show business at the age of seven, when she was cast in the children’s television series Barney & Friends.

During her time on the show, Gomez began a music career, releasing her debut album, Kiss & Tell (2009), through Hollywood Records.

In 2018, Gomez revealed that she had undergone a kidney transplant due to her struggle with lupus. She has since been active in raising awareness of the disease.
