After a phenomenally successful second season, ‘Hacks’ is all set to mark a memorable return for a third season. The second season saw Smart and Einbinder pick up a whopping 17 nominations at the 2022 Emmys – including Outstanding Comedy Series and Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series (for Smart); That’s a big deal!

The second season of ‘Hacks’ gave viewers across the globe a load of closure – Deborah’s stand-up allowed her to reclaim her dominion in the comedy world and she fired Ava so her young assistant could finally pursue her dreams.

Paul W. Downs mentioned, “We just wanted it to feel like there was a resolution to this season, but also make it a cliffhanger in itself because it’s sort of like: What does the future hold for these two women?”

Thus for the third season, we can expect to see Deborah and Ava as they follow their destiny – or whatever it holds for them in the future.

Sarah Aubrey, Head of Original Content at HBO Max was seen stating that she is overjoyed at the press and audience response to the new season. “We are glad to give viewers more of this gorgeous, hilarious, moving show.”

What To Expect from Hacks Season 3?

It’s a given fact that Smart and Einbinder would indeed reprise their roles – and other cast members including Carl Clemons-Hopkins Kaitlin Olson, Christopher McDonald, Mark Indelicato, Rose Abdoo, and Lorenza Izzo are regulars. However, Megan Stalter will become a series regular in addition to Paul. W. Downs who would be playing Jimmy (Ava and Deborah’s assistant).

There’s also a starry guest lineup including Helen Hunt, Christina Hendricks, Christopher Lloyd, Dan Bucatinsky, George Wallace, and Tony Goldwyn – according to Variety.

When Is the Hacks Season 3 Expected to Arrive?

Hacks Season 3 is expected to premiere on May 2nd, 2024. The season will include 2 episodes that will be dropping every week until the finale which is expected to be on May 30th.
